A lot of existence is unseen, and misunderstood because of that. We take mental shortcuts - which isn't bad; probably evolutionarily necessary, to be honest - that can cause us to believe what we ought first question. Especially our thoughts. To say we are 99% unconscious would not be hyperbolic. We do not understand ourselves because we are so unconscious. The only way to understand ourselves, as well as others, is to gain perspective. That requires us to stop walking into the same walls and question where we are headed.
