A few prominent New Testament scholars have argued that the speech by the Apostle Paul in Acts 17 where he was addressing the assembly at the Areopagus was a mistake—that perhaps he was just experimenting with different ways to teach and preach the gospel. Some of the reasons for this thinking is that it resulted in very few converts and Paul’s methods had changed in subsequent encounters with other crowds. Paul Copan addresses this issue in his new book “The Gospel in the Marketplace of Ideas.” Listen as we discuss the merits of tailoring your message specifically to your audience and using the art of persuasion and rhetoric in presenting the truth claims of Christianity. Hosting the show is Harry Edwards with panelists Sam Welbaum, Jacob Daniel and special guest Daniel Wynne.
