"ALSA LC UNAIR Podcast Pertjakapan #8: Academic's Talk: Mengulik Kembali Kasus Brigadir J, Penantian Keadilan yang Belum Terwujud"

Who doesn't know the Brigadir J Case? Cases involving many parties including the former Head of the Propam Division, Ferdy Sambo. The case that started with a shooting scenario between Bharada E and Brigadir J which caused Brigadir J to finally die was in fact only with a scenario created by Ferdy Sambo. The surprising fact that Ferdy Sambo had confessed to ordering Bharada E to shoot Brigadir J and set up the shoot-out scenario. The report of Brigadir J's sexual harassment of Putri Candrawati is only an unproven report.

The case is running from 2 months but not at a bright spot. Justice is still being waited by Indonesian families and people and is a critical note on the journey of law and law enforcement officers in Indonesia. So? want to know more about this case? Go listen our podcast on Spotify!

As Indonesian citizens who are guided by the values of Pancasila, the imposition of the death penalty must be addressed democratically and wisely. Based on Indonesian law, the death penalty is only applied to the certain crimes, such as narcotics, terrorism, and corruption.The existence of two views regarding death penalty from the perspective of the deterrent effect caused by the imposition of the death penalty for the death row inmates or from the perspective of human rights itself, creates contradictions and endless debate for both.
