In this episode I chat with Christiana Saia of Lap  of Love veterinary hospice. Christiana is a certified grief coach who helps hold space for pet parents who are grieving the loss of a beloved pet.  We discuss why pet grief has historically been considered a disenfranchised grief, often dismissed. We also chat about the anger and guilt associated with pet  loss, how to identify if you may be feeling anticipatory grief, and the importance of self compassion during the grieving process.
