PETE CROOKS CAUTIONARY TALE OF PI CHRIS BUTLER
This week I talk with a good guy named Crooks. The topic is his 2015 book, The Set Up; Pete Crooks Cautionary Tale of PI Chris Butler. It’s a story of greed, hubris and the dogged pursuit of fame at all costs. Picture this: sexy PI moms in minivans with long tan legs, a bulky former cop turned private eye…and a Lifetime Network reality show in the making. Find out how it all came crashing down on a beautiful sunny Saturday in August of 2010.
Pete Crooks cautionary tale of PI Chris Butler began with an innocent ride along with the PI Moms. How it ended is the subject of this episode of the Intermountain PI Podcast. The story of the PI Moms was featured on an episode of Dr. Phil and Ira Glass’ podcast, This American Life.
Pete Crooks is an author, as well as senior editor and senior writer at Diablo Magazine, the glossy lifestyle mag that caters to the affluent in the East Bay area near San Francisco. In his spare time Pete enjoys reruns of the Rockford Files and is a fan of film noir from the 1940s.
Don’t miss last week’s episode with Colorado private investigator Andrea Orozco. We discussed the importance of joining private investigation associations.
