Pete Finnerty followed in his father's footsteps and became a firefighter. He made the very difficult decision to turn down a promotion to Battalion Chief until three years later, a move which he credits with enhancing his approach to life, both personally and professionally. He recently received a Medal of Valor, the highest honor bestowed on a member of the fire service, for his heroics during the 2018 Woolsey fire that ravaged most of Malibu.
