Peter Budimir – How do we face trials?

Listen Later

Have we all faced trials? Jesus does not deal with trials here with His

disciples to make all the trials go away. In His wisdom, he is working for a far greater
purpose and plan for his glory. Often it is painful, but how are these 11 nobodies
going to turn the world upside down?

One of the things he does first is to get them to focus on something higher, to focus

on a hope that they have. To focus on the presence and the reality of God now.

It’s not accidental that John 14 is here in the account, after John 13, knowing that His

disciples would face this cutting off and this failure of Peter in particular, and
the other disciples that abandoned Jesus during the crucifixion.

“Let not your heart be troubled, you believe in God, believe also in Me”.

No one could follow Jesus to the cross, only one person was equipped to do this, that is

Jesus the Son of the living God.
