A review into New Zealand's athlete welfare conditions aims to work with the country's top sporting organisations to understand the environment and conditions to understand what changes need to be made in the future.

Peter Miskimmin from Sport New Zealand told Mike Hosking that many countries are having to look at new ways to improve conditions for athletes.

"It is a worldwide issue dealing with the culture, our colleagues in Australia and the UK are all looking at new and appropriate ways to create the right performance environment."
