Peter’s Denial and Our Own Weakness

There’s something deeply human about Peter’s denial of Jesus. Moments earlier, he had boldly declared that he would follow Jesus to prison and to death. Yet in the pressure of the courtyard, by a fire, surrounded by strangers, Peter crumbled. Three denials. Then the rooster crowed, and Jesus turned and looked at him. That look wasn’t filled with rage or disgust—it was filled with knowing… and love.

Peter wept bitterly. It was the grief of someone who realized how weak they really were.

We’ve all had our “Peter moments”—times when fear outweighed our faith, when we’ve stayed silent instead of speaking truth, or when we’ve chosen convenience over conviction. But just like Peter, we aren’t defined by our worst moments.
