The Peter of the Gospels is very different from the Peter of the Christian tradition. Young, loud, brave, foolish--that's the Peter that Jesus singled out for special attention. And it's what Peter learned as a reader of Scripture that we are asked to follow in Peter's Pentecost sermon and letters in Christian Scripture.
