भगवान परशुराम और कार्तवीर्य अर्जुन के बीच युद्ध के समय कार्तवीर्य के सैनिक ऋषियों के आश्रमों पर आक्रमण करने लगे। जब भगवान परशुराम ने कार्तवीर्य का वध कर दिया तो उसके पुत्रों ने ऋषियों को अपना निशाना बनाया। 

इसी प्रकरण में एक बार उन्होंने पाराशर ऋषि के आश्रम में भी आक्रमण कर दिया। जब ऋषि ने उनको रोकने का प्रयास किया तो इस प्रक्रिया में उनके पैर में चोट लग गयी। 

इसी चोट के कारण वो लंगड़ाकर चलने लगे और उनका एक नाम पंगु ऋषि भी पड़ गया। 

The Limping Sage

During the fight between Bhagwaan Parshuram and Kartavirya Arjuna, Kartavirya’s soldiers started raiding the Ashrams. After Bhagwaan Parshuram killed Kartavirya, his sons attacked various Ashrams. 

During one such raid they attacked the Ashram of Parashara rishi. The great rishi tried to stop them and was hurt in his leg in the process. 

After this Parashara rishi started walking with a limp and became famous as the Limping Sage
