Today, we get into George MacDonald's classic, Phantastes. This was a formative book for several important writers of the twentieth century, including C.S. Lewis, J.R.R. Tolkien, and W.H. Auden. It's a fairy tale about a man who gets banished to fairyland by his maybe-maybe-not great-grandmother and falls in love with a marble statue Pygmalion-style. Enjoy.
