As part of this week’s “News Maker” show of Sarah’s Country, Phil Duncan from RuralWeather has the latest long-range weather forecast.

According to RuralWeather, there is another cooler change moving up the country over the next 48 hours but by Wednesday a powerful (and growing) high pressure belt from just south of Aussie will be moving our way.

This southern high will bring more dry, settled, weather to the South Island (after the cool change) and for the North Island it will encourage more La Niña like easterlies later this week and into this weekend.
