It’s Thursday, December 27th. The decades-long project that set out to make the Delaware River deeper will finally be finished next year. Since Congress approved a plan in 1992 to deepen the Delaware’s main channel by 5 feet, the project has survived pushback from environmentalists. They said it was unnecessary and would harm marine life. But supporters say this will add more than $13 million to the U.S. economy each year.
