It’s Friday, February 8th. The 2018 midterm elections showed that Pennsylvania is a state divided. While a blue wave of Democrats led to gains for the party, a red wave of Republicans solidified their hold on rural areas. Returns from the state’s more than 9,000 precincts show Pennsylvania voters pulling apart from each other based on party and visible geographic lines. Urban areas and their suburbs lined up for Democrats while rural areas are shifting even farther to the right.
