Good morning. It’s Thursday, March 7th. SEPTA’s [sep-ta’s] transit police went on strike Wednesday afternoon. The police are responsible for patrolling SEPTA’s stations and vehicles. And the union that represents 178 SEPTA police officers has been negotiating with the transit agency on a contract that expired a year ago. SEPTA plans to rely on 49 supervisors to work extended hours to cover patrols during the strike.
