In this letters to the early church body and its leaders, Paul often encourages, challenges and empowers. His small writing to Philemon, a leader in the Colossian church, is unique in many respects, being the only prison epistle addressed to an individual. Although it does not reach the lofty doctrinal heights of other epistles, it does deal with vitally important practical issues. With themes of forgiveness and reconciliation, these truths are still very powerful truths today.
