Rejoice - A Study of Philippians | In vs 15 of chapter 2 Paul says we live in a crooked and twisted generation, but amongst this generation we are to shine as lights. Beginning in vs 19 it feels like Paul then puts this thought on hold and tells the Philippians, “Oh, by the way, there’s been a change in plans.” But as one commentator said, in these verses, Paul “moves from instructions and imperatives to living illustrations.” Paul sets forth Timothy and Epaphroditus as examples of godliness and how to shine in this world. And at the end of this passage, he reminds us to '“receive them with joy and honor them”.
