A little bit about Philippians. 

Its one of four Prison epistles, that’s letters written by Paul while he was in prison. The apostle Paul was writing from prison, why was he in prison? For preaching the Gospel. 

Paul’s goal is for us to see that living as a Christian means seeing your own life (story) as a lived expression of Jesus story.

This letter, known for it’s joy and encouragement is written by a prisoner who has been falsely incarcerated by the Roman Government for no good reason and the letter isn’t marked by bitterness, protest or anger, but in fact this letter is known for it’s joy and encouragement.
