The believers of Philippi were no strangers to suffering and need. Paul wrote this letter to encourage the Philippians that their suffering was not in vain. He taught them about the importance of humility, the need for godly examples and above all, to make Christ their prized possession. In doing this, they would experience a life of true joy amidst the trials they faced daily.
