I am beginning to look into David Hume and in the context of today he really tackles the issue of non-scientific thinkers throwing their weight around. There is a general inoculation against calling them non-scientific. In fact it is a badge of honor. However DH goes on to dissect non-scientific thinking as in fact sentimental faux thinking.
