The folk singer, Ellis Paul, took off his flat cap and, with a flick of his wrist, hung it from the boom of his mic stand. He told listeners in the intimate, Northern Virginia venue about the first time he played the famous Blue Bird Café in Nashville.
“It was 1992 and I had a mullet,” he said. “Do you remember when mullets were cool?”
