Elephantine island is the only known approved jewish temple outside of Israel.  This was originally an outpost - hired by Pharaoh Necho II’s father to protect his southern border in approximately 630BCE. We know they had sacrifice - and possibly more on this island - the Egyptians once believed was the source of the Nile River itself. Or - rather possibly the Gihon River - which has been renamed the Nile.
