…all have their open accounts, and so very often have their wives,” he’d later write.
Churchill’s tour had been organized by financier Bernard Baruch, who introduced him to the titans of American finance.
And the tour took him to California, where, as the guest of William Randolph Hearst, he met successful Hollywood stars.
These people were navigating a path to great wealth.
