A State Department spokesman announced overnight that Germany has signed the armistice and hostilities will cease this morning at 11:00 AM Paris time.
The German Army has refused the pleas of the German Emperor, sometimes called “Kaiser Bill,” to support the continuation of his reign.
The Kaiser and his son, the Crown Prince, have abdicated and have fled to Holland.
The kings, dukes and princes ruling other principalities within the German Empire are also abdicating.
In Berlin, Socialists have raised their red flag over the Royal Palace and the Brandenburg Gate as fighting, including canon fire, raged across the city.
