Pick - Phrasal Verbs

I explain a few phrasal verbs using 'pick' and give a few examples.

1. PICK UP -

to collect (pick up your kids from school), to lift (pick up the chair), to answer the phone (I called but he didn't pick up)

2. PICK OFF -

to remove (don't pick off the scab), to eliminate (pick off the enemy team, one by one)

3. PICK OUT -

to select (pick out a shirt to wear), to discern (pick out which item is not like the others)

4. PICK ON -

to bully (he was expelled from school for bullying other students)

5. PICK THROUGH -

search through in order to find something ( he is picking through his laundry basket to find his lucky shirt)

6. PICK OVER -

to examine and / or sort through to select the best/ special or remove the unwanted (don't pick over your meal, eat everything on your plate)
