I think that something I have always struggled with has been choosing who to surround myself with. I've learned a lot over the years and although I will be the first to admit it, I have yet to master it. I believe it's a constantly evolving process, that changes as our preferences change.
So in this episode, I discuss the difference between relationships with friends and family. I share my Personal Bill of Rights (... to relationships/of an individual) and I speak a little bit about the importance of healthy decision making. I also share a few guiding questions that help me when I navigate relationships.
When picking your people, decide upfront what you will and will not deal with. (Friendships, romantic relationships, and even with family members.
Remember that you constantly make the CHOICE to grant or deny someone access into your life/space.
How do you define friendship? What are your expectations for your friends, are they unspoken?
Make your decisions from a healthy place! People have feelings, experiences, and perspectives that shape them.
