They're lying on the floor. Starring at the ceiling. Normal evening. Piero says, very quietly, "I think I love you." Arlekin's whole body goes stiff. His bells jingle once — LOUD — like they short-circuited. Then he rolls over and shoves his entire face into Piero's chest. "Say it again." Piero says it again. Arlekin makes a sound like a deflating balloon. "One more time." Piero says it a third time. Arlekin looks up. His face is completely red. His eyes are wet. "I love you too, moon boy. Now never say it again because I think my heart stopped."
