High-tech crime fighter, Michael Long, played by David Hasselhoff is nearly killed in the line of duty. He is saved by a mysterious benefactor named Wilton Knight. Wilton gives him a new identity, Michael Knight, and a new mission: to fight for justice on behalf of the Foundation for Law and Government (FLAG). 

Michael’s most powerful tool in his fight against crime is KITT (Knight Industries Two Thousand), an artificially intelligent, self-aware, and nearly indestructible car equipped with advanced technology, including the ability to drive itself, talk, and perform various high-tech functions.
