In 1990, Chris opened The Hempstead Company, one of the first hemp companies in the US. In 1992, Chris Co-Founded the Hemp Industries Association (HIA) as the first industry collective and trade association to grow and standardise the industry... In 1994, he made hemp history as the first modern person to legally grow industrial hemp at the USDA Research Station in Brawley, California. Chris was heavily involved in crafting and promoting legislation for legal cultivation of hemp in the US, in CA and CO, and for the Navajo Nation.
