In Mark 7-8 we continue to see the slow revelation of Jesus’s true identity, and we finally see a turning point when Peter acknowledges that Jesus is the Messiah. This confession is immediately followed by a misunderstanding of what that means as Jesus begins to point out his path to the cross and the journey set for those who choose to follow him.
