The Other 16 Part 7 (Place of Peace)

Do not let yourself be overcome by evil, but overcome (master) evil with good.

Romans 12:21 AMPC

*- Become a master of peace in your home—by preventing or conquering anxiety, anger, and selfishness with the good that defeats what has erupted. We don’t silence evil by matching its tone; we overcome it by mastering ours through humility to God’s will, Word, and way.

*- When we let strife, irritation, or offense rule the atmosphere, we’re agreeing with the absence of God in that moment. Peace is proof that His presence is governing the house.

How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.

Acts 10:38 KJV

*- God anointed Jesus, and He has anointed us as well.

21 Now he which stablisheth us with you in Christ, and hath anointed us, is God;

22 Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.

2 Corinthians 1:21-22 KJV

*- Identify the anointing within each member of your family, and honor them by yielding to how God chooses to use them. When every gift in the house is respected and allowed to function, peace reigns and remains.

*- A genuine posture of humility and submission is the proof that we both recognize and honor the anointing operating in someone else.

To everything there is a season, and a time for every matter or purpose under heaven:

Ecclesiastes 3:1 AMPC

*- What time is it?

*- This question is usually answered with the question…

*- Whose time is it?

*- Teacher, Judge, Postal Worker, Surgeon, Pastor, Basketball Player, Newscaster, etc.

*- When a specific area of life becomes troubled, the question is: Whose time is it, in your family, to rise in their anointing and bring peace to that troubled place?

*- The Jews expected the Messiah to enter the world as a roaring lion!

*- But He entered this world as a peaceful newborn, the Lamb of God who would be slain to bring lasting peace to all who received Him—and to all who still receive Him today.

Be well balanced (temperate, sober of mind), be vigilant and cautious at all times; for that enemy of yours, the devil, roams around like a lion roaring [in fierce hunger], seeking someone to seize upon and devour.

1 Peter 5:8 AMPC

*- Your bold, roaring opposers want you to believe they’ll defeat you—stay at peace.

*- Their attacks wounded you, and to them, you looked defeated. Those who hated you, disagreed with what God told you to do, and abandoned you, treated you just as they did Jesus.

*- But, like Jesus, Who was seen as wounded and slain, you, at the end of the race, will be resurrected in power!

Lifework Assignment:

Have an open, Spirit-led conversation with your anointed family members and closest brothers and sisters about mutually showing deep respect, honor, and submission to how God uses each of you to bless and strengthen one another.

Expected Behavior:

6 Having gifts (faculties, talents, qualities) that differ according to the grace given us, let us use them: [He whose gift is] prophecy, [let him prophesy] according to the proportion of his faith;

7 [He whose gift is] practical service, let him give himself to serving; he who teaches, to his teaching;

8 He who exhorts (encourages), to his exhortation; he who contributes, let him do it in simplicity and liberality; he who gives aid and superintends, with zeal and singleness of mind; he who does acts of mercy, with genuine cheerfulness and joyful eagerness.

9 [Let your] love be sincere (a real thing); hate what is evil [loathe all ungodliness, turn in horror from wickedness], but hold fast to that which is good.

10 Love one another with brotherly affection [as members of one family], giving precedence and showing honor to one another.

11 Never lag in zeal and in earnest endeavor; be aglow and burning with the Spirit, serving the Lord.

Romans 12:6-11 AMPC
