The plaintiff says he went out of town for work and asked the defendant to watch his puppy when he was gone. The puppy died when he was gone, so he’s suing for unpaid rent and emotional distress. The defendant argues she had nothing to do with the puppy’s death.

She says she hired the defendant to plan a memorial service for her son, but she’s suing for breach of contract. The defendant is a nurse and event planner. She says she agreed to plan a birthday party, and she’s countersuing for breach of contract.
