The City of Carlsbad Plastic Bag Ban start February 1, 2025. We speak with City Councilor and Keep Carlsbad Beautiful Coordinator Mary Garwood about the new ordinance. 

Key Points: 
1) Two year trial - addressed by Council again in February 2027
2) Enforcement in the form of "friendly reminders" for some time
3) Re-usable bags available around the county for free
4) 10 cents can be charged by business for recoup non-plastic bag costs
