#Mars#Mercury#Pluto#Venus
I took this snapshot of the planets at around 10:30 pm on the 24th Jan, with the Skyviewer app on my iphone . It has a great view of the Planets, Mars, Mercury, Venus and Pluto all lined up. It has nothing to do with day to day Construction Technology, I just find it facinating.

To understand the layout, I took a screen shot of the planets orbit positions for that day to show the alinement.
Although they look on top of each other Pluto is the last planet on our solar system and is a long way out, almost twice the distance of Mars, which in itself is twice the distance of Venus. The earth is on the other side of the sun, so the app is just showing the position not actual.
The orbits are again a simulation and defiantly not drawn to scale, and the orbit shape not circular but mostly oval in shape but usefull to see the grouping.

I used to include a lecture on the planets as part of my weather lecture, the Earths orbit, out tilt, and the different summers.
