The United Nations has predicted that the world’s population will reach nearly 10 billion by 2050 and the agricultural sector will be responsible for producing 70% more food to meet the demand.  The modern farmer needs to manage and monitor multiple concurrent processes, operating across vast spatial areas and amidst what appears to be increasingly tumultuous weather cycles influenced by climate change.
