On this West Virginia Morning, it’s hard enough to connect a baseball and bat in mid-air. Imagine doing it when you can’t see.

In beep baseball, blind athletes rely on sound to hit the ball and run to a base. Last month (June), the East Louisville Lions Club hosted the Indianapolis Thunder, an adult beep baseball team, for a demonstration. Emily Chen-Newton with LPM News via the Appalachia + Mid-South Newsroom has more on the sport where players keep their ears on the ball.

Also, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is reporting an outbreak of intestinal illness in 31 states – including West Virginia and a weapons manufacturer is coming to the eastern panhandle.

And a proposed advanced recycling facility in eastern Kanawha County is raising concerns for local residents.
