Michael Sanders: That’s right it’s awesome to be here
The Startup Coach: Can you tell me about your background before blockchain?
Michael Sanders: Yeah, so to start I grew up in a small town called Strathroy not that far from Toronto  went to school in London Ontario at western, got into advertising I was the vice president of an advertising agency shortly after university and I ended up going through a pretty dark phase actually you know working as a vice president as I mentioned, I was the co-founder of a startup in the gaming industry more towards the gambling industry I was training athletically in intensely about fourteen times per week, I wanted to achieve a one arm hand stand, a one chin up, a four hundred pound squad. I wanted to successfully service my advertising clients and then launch this successful startup in another field and attain financial freedom and I was just so goal oriented and go, go, go all the time, I was never relaxing never resting, never felt like I deserved any rest, because there’s need to do just work hard and accomplish my goals.
Yeah, I actually went through a phase of extreme darkness where I would sleep ten hours each night and my alarm clock would sound in the morning it felt as though the universe was playing some sick joke on me because I didn’t feel rested. I would be going to my add agency at noon and I would have to leave by three thirty just because I was so smoked and the only thing that would make me feel alive again would be like to go do gymnastics or rock climb or something like that. so it’s like a love for movements or turned in to an obsession and an borderline addiction, but yeah into a really dark space I ended up consulting with a naturalpath sorta getting my developed at dealing with meditation practice, I started focusing a lot on play, and that really started making me feel like myself again within the span of a number of months and overtime way better than I ever felt before.
I went to Burningman for the first time in twenty thirteen which change my life I then went down to the Amazon jungle and had plant medicine ceremonies with ayahuasca for anyone that’s familiar that shadowed my previous paradigm of reality and opened me up to a whole world, a whole new way of thinking and being that now informs my entire life, and I actually wrote a, best-selling book about that called ayahuasca and executives enlightenment and was sort of around that time that I actually got into Crypto for the first time it was actually two days before going down to the Amazon rainforest I invested in some of my friends startups there is a litecoin in mining startup down in Barbados and I also decided to buy some Bitcoin at that time and I had my eye on Bitcoin since about twenty-ten but I’m not that technical I’m not a developer so back in twenty-ten I was trying to sift through redit to acquire this stuff and it was just beyond my comprehension so it took me a few years to actually get into the space. But yeah, that is back in twenty thirteen that I finally dove into the Crypto space.
