So you have a PLC-controlled machine down, and you have ruled out all of the typical mechanical issues. 

You have also checked over the high-voltage electrical systems, and everything is in order. 

With that out of the way, you now need to start the process of diagnosing the PLC.  

One of the technicians' most valuable skills when performing electrical diagnostics is the hopscotch electrical diagnostic method. 

This method makes it possible to determine the condition of PLC inputs and outputs quickly.
