The written version of this will be out Monday, but I wanted to drop you all the audio now. A few reasons for this:

One is that a big, gnarly tree fell in my neighborhood yesterday, killing the power to my house. It went down at exactly the time I was getting ready to record and tee-up this screed I wrote about a race controversy at Disney. That one’ll keep, but it meant there was no Thursday post this week, and I thought that might make some of you sad.

Also, one of the things I discuss here is the rumored casting of Elliot Page as Achilles in the Nolan Odyssey, which is a topic I think is both funny and interesting. I also think it’s almost certainly not true, and that we’ll probably be told that sooner rather than later. Could be any day now. In the written piece, I can just write “UPDATE: This ain’t happening.” It’s more annoying to do that for a podcast though, so I’m delivering this to you as a sneak preview.

Finally, this is long, nerdy, rambling, and niche. It might be the kind of thing that’s better to listen to over a weekend when you have fewer real world things to think about. Again, if you’re not a podcast person, the written one’s coming soon.
