Plot Your Content: The next chapter for your marketing and business episodes

  • Episode 61: Blogging and the C.A.R method for all content

I think small business owners create too much content or feel like they have to be creating more which leads to feeling overwhelmed. It's one of the reasons I love blogging so much and why I think a blog fits into most content strategies. You create once, and reuse often.

In this episode, I teach the C.A.R. method of content that applies to all content for entrepreneurs and small business owners, but works very well with blogging.

  • Episode 60: Is time always the issue when it comes to marketing and content creation?

After reviewing my July Instagram insights, I had a revelation.

I hadn't been posting much and yet I had more time in July than usual.

It started to make me ask if time really is to blame when it comes to content lulls or times when we're not posting. Yes, time is a factor because the capacity to be able to sit down, edit, record, write, craft, get into Canva, login, can be tough some days. B

And at other times, when we have deadlines or are limited, we can create more content or cross marketing off our to-do list with more ease.

In this episode, I share what takeaways I have from the summer and how I'm going into the Fall with my own content strategy and what it can mean for yours.

  • Episode 59: I hate genAI, but maybe you don't. Let's chat about it.

It's no secret that I don't love generative AI. As a creative, it's theft and is highly problematic.

But I'm an entrepreneur and recognize that there are many people embracing it. In this episode, I want to share some thoughts and reflections about why small business owners should step away from the genAI and consider how important the process of content creation is in developing brand voice.

  • Episode 58 planning content in the summer slowing down but not stopping your marketing

If you are feeling overwhelmed about content marketing in the summer for your business, while you are busy with the kids or planning vacations or just enjoying some down time, this episode is for you.

I take you behind the scenes to how I plan my summer content. While I'm still working, I am reducing my online time and yet every piece of content is intentionally created and shared with next month and next quarter in mind. Because I use a goal-oriented planning method, and my 3-1-1 content planning framework, I can easily decide what to share, why and when.

  • Episode 56: Content Creation for Brick and Mortar/Market/Product businesses

If you have a main street storefront, are a brick and mortar, have products, or attend markets to sell your goods, you may find that business and content advice online is usually aimed at service based businesses.

In this episode, I am sharing tips to create content as a brick and mortar store or for your product based business.

I started my social media management career going into local stores to help them with their social posting, newsletters, blogs and more. Here are a few reminders that can help since it's hard to navigate advice online.

  • Episode 55: The secret to your DMs on Instagram as a small business owner

If you DM people does it increase reach? The head of Instagram says no.

BUT that doesn't mean DMs aren't a crucial part to your marketing plan. It's the ONE area I recommend people hang out when they are short on time.

In this episode, I share why relationship marketing thrives in DMs, what it means for your Instagram use, and what to focus on.

  • Episode 52: Some content will fail, some is working harder than you think

Not all content will be successful, but you have to figure out what the actual definition of success is.

In this episode, I share why failing content is okay (and what you can learn from it), as well as why some 'failed' content is actually working harder than you know: Long-form content, social media marketing, and visibility efforts all have different goals, and reasons for being. Knowing this will help you create better.

I also talk about what to look for when testing and trying new things (one post is not enough data to make decisions about!)
