Podcast #15-17 Dean Somerset part 2

Listen Later

Dean Somerset is a kinesiologist (BSc. Kinesiology, University of Alberta) and a Certified Exercise Physiologist (Canadian Society of Exercise Physiologists) from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.  He is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS, NSCA) and a Medical Exercise Specialist (American Academy of Health, Rehabilitation and Fitness Professionals).
Dean has trained pro, Olympic and Paralympic athletes as well as post-surgical recovery and complex medical clients and everyone in between.  In addition to his in-person training, Dean teaches seminars and works with clients around the world with goals ranging from injury recovery or athletic performance to weight loss or enjoying time in the gym.  He’s written for many publications, including Men’s Health, Women’s Health, T-Nation.com and Bodybuilding.com.  A quote from his website, www.deansomerset.com: “Most of my talks focus on using humour and hands-on application to keep people engaged and entertained.  This has been shown to be a successful method of having participants retain key information versus just speaking and instructing and lets me make ruthless fun of anyone who shows up to a hip or mobility seminar wearing tight jeans.”  He loves deadlifts, cookies and puppy snuggles (not necessarily in that order).  Dean is also the host of The Dean Somerset Podcast.
