Despite the title of this podcast, I expect to be celebrating with all of our #TeamOrdinary runners at Sunday’s Marine Corps Marathon. We are all going to have a blast and witness some incredible achievements!
The title is actual quite literal, as yesterday I witnessed a pretty bad car accident. Luckily, no one was severely injured, though one woman went to the hospital. I’m pretty sure she is going to be ok – thankfully, because the accident was not her fault. What lessons did I learn? Well… first, an appreciation for the bravery and courage of first responders – people who show up on the scene not knowing what to expect, hoping somehow they can help. And also… unfortunately, there are some pretty rotten people out there, too. People who would lie to the police to the detriment of an innocent, old woman, because it might absolve them of their own poor choices and despicable behavior. I’m betting those guys aren’t runners… just a hunch.
