Today: Selective Unmasking is letting one person take their gas mask off in a NBC (Nuclear, Biological, Chemical) environment before everyone else takes theirs off.

Even when everything and all the tests say it is safe, we in the Military would still select one person in each unit to take their mask off while the rest of keep our masks on.  We would watch that person for a given amount of time (dependent on the environment and the toxin in the air) to see if they showed any signs of exposer. 

If we saw signs of exposure in that person, we would have them put the mask back on and treat them.  If there were no signs, then we would all unmask.

With governments around the world starting to open restrictions on business and travel we are in this unmasking phase from Covid-19.  We don’t really know how bad this virus is or isn’t, but we can’t all stay at home for ever.

Be smart, let other people unmask first.  See what happens before you take your mask off.  My family and I are going to wait another 2 weeks before we lift our self imposed quarantine guide lines.  Will you wait or will you be the one I watch to see if they get sick?

What is the true danger of this virus?

• Here are some numbers I found
• Texas Death Rate as of 4/26/20 is out of the confirmed cases 2.6% have died.

  • Study done 3/1/20 to 4/4/20
  • 9% of outcomes during the study were deaths, only 79.% recovered enough to be sent home
  • Factors of people studied; of the people hospitalized for Covid-19 56% had Hypertension, 41.7% were obese, and 33.8% were diabetic
  • Once on a ventilator 88% died

If you end up in the hospital:

• You will be alone
• Your family will not know what is happening with you
• If you die, you will die alone with your family having no idea what is going on
• They cannot and should not be in the hospital with you

We don’t have to choose people to selectively unmask, enough people will be stupid enough to do it.  Just sit back and watch

It was unsafe last week and now it’s safe this week?  Do you really trust what anyone is saying to make that call?

Is going out really worth the risk?

• Law Enforcement, Fire, and Military – This is your duty. This is what you signed up for.  This is your moment to be a hero.  Thank you for doing your duty.  I’ve been there and done that.  I’m too old and too fat to do it anymore.  Thank you for continuing on.
• Medical Personnel – Thanks for doing the best you can to save lives even at the risk to yourself and your family. You are awesome!  I don’t know how you do it or if I could do it.  Thank you.
• Essential Workers: Food Workers, Delivery Drivers, Grocery Store, Big Box Stores, Hardware Stores, and anything else where you have to go to work and deal with the public for crappy pay – This is not what you signed up for. Most of you are stuck with no choice to sit at home or go to work.  Thank you.  You are the ones that are being truly heroic during this time.  People aren’t helping by being asses and not wearing a mask on top of the normal crap they pull.  Your life seems impossible right now, yet you keep going to work to feed the world.  My heart goes out to you.  I wish I could do something more to help.  You have my thanks and prayers.
