Matt Scoletti is an animal. For a lot of people in the sport of endurance running, 2020 has been a washout. Too many canceled races, too may dashed dreams and medals unearned. It can be depressing. But Matt Scoletti is not one to sit on his butt and sulk.
No, not Matt. His 100-mile ultra got cancelled? Oh well… he’ll just run around the block 250 times. And when he looked for his next challenge, he thought of how he could help people – especially through his wife’s non-profit, Young Adult Survivors. They set up a GoFundMe, and for the month of August, Matt decided to run a mile for every $10 donated.
Leave it to the public to want to see a man suffer. Over $7,000 in donations already means that Matt has had trouble keeping up his end of the bargain. That’s not to say he’s not trying his best though. Today is August 19th and Matt has already completed 16 full-distance marathons!
