Podcast #375 – Ordinary Marathon Recap, Planning Goals / Testing

Listen Later

Thank you to everyone who participated over the weekend in the Ordinary Half Marathon. It was great to see so many people come together and run in this trying year. So great to see so many people setting goals and accomplishing them. Thank you for your participation and we hope to see you in the Spring for our full 2021 Ordinary Marathon.

What did I learn about myself over the past weekend? I learned that you can’t not run and expect to maintain your performance-level. This is not a new lesson. I’ve learned it before. BUT… the good news is that I was able to run for 4 days straight. I also learned that getting the training in can be a matter of choice and commitment, instead of making excuses.

So, what to do for here. I am where I am… there’s just a choice to make. Given my goals – short-term, medium-term, and long-term – I need to train harder. This week I will split into two parts – recovery in the beginning, and testing in the end. Testing now will give me a great starting point as we leap towards achieving those goals in the future.
