Weekend training means long bikes and long runs. For me, it also meant a run at my recent 5k PR. Friday night I took to the treadmill in an effort to break my recent best 29:09 5k. I battled the voices in my head telling me no one cared and I should just quit early. But I didn’t… and before I knew it I had finished.
My Saturday Zwift ride was dictated by Tour de Zwift. I got sick of myself complaining about this ride being on gravel, so I subjected myself to the most difficult option and went after the A-ride. I went after it pretty hard and was satisfied with the finish.
Sunday was long run day, and I went after another recent best in terms of distance. Another success! Low and slow and got it done.
Then I sat down to watch the Super Bowl. I still haven’t decided who I want to win, but my wish for a close game never materialized. I spent all night waiting for a comeback that never happened.
