How to Fight CRT Critics and Laws They Are Passing

Summary Points of the Podcast:

It is clear from Podcast 48 to 53 that there is no article written that professes a theory or foundation of beliefs that triggered the passage of anti-CRT laws. After hearing the story about the Fox news interview with someone who had no knowledge or experience with CRT it is easy to trace the inappropriate actions to Trump and his staff member. There was no legitimate study of CRT by them, and its use to justify attacks of CRT, banning books, attack transgender kids and their parent and “woke” people and organizations.

I did discover a conservative institute that puts out articles that are highly criticized by law journals, and subject matter experts. Some of the criticisms are use of anecdotal information, inflated rhetoric, misrepresentation, no empirically based measures, and evasive methods of argument.

In the article by the Southern Poverty Law Center lawyer, Robert Kim, you will learn what exactly are the anti-CRT laws, which he says, “do not have much to do with critical race theory.” He goes through states to allow each of us to understand what these laws focus on. I have provided his statements about states, and what the 1619 Project is and the reasons it was established after 400 years of slavery. Hear the story about the White Lion ship and how 1619 needs to be the founding day of America not 1620.

I found Kim’s section on “Can I still discuss and teach issues pertaining to racism or sexism in schools or staff trainings” informative, and a significant opportunity to know what to ask and how to clarify these anti-CRT laws. His section on “Are the anti CRT laws legal” gave clear statements about the reason that so many of these laws are now being addressed in state and federal courts. Kim’s statements are valuable to show you how teachers and trainers can take stands against the language of anti-CRT legislation.

You will have a chance to hear the reason that Republican women are speaking out about Trump, and standing up for democracy rather than the Republican party.
