This was my interview on BBC WORLD. And what does it deal with? It deals with bringing about a woman-empowering approach to psychotherapy and mental health counseling. I invented a support system for mental health that was gender-sensitive and woman-friendly viz-a-viz many of the traditional psychotherapeutic approaches that existed back then, a decade ago, when I was the first person in India to propound a feminist therapeutic framework IN ACTION VIA MY MENTAL HEALTH PRACTICE. This was applauded by many in India and abroad - those were the days when I spent most of my time amongst the poorest of the poor and reintegrating them back to their families that were most unwilling to have them back. Those days were spent in rural and urban villages that most often had no wifi, no internet, no electricity in the evenings and I slept on bare iron cots embedded to the floor...but I was nevertheless very satisfied with having done something for the poorest of the poor women with psychosocial issues - I brought about major changes in their lives!!! Those were the days when the GWRM - GLOBAL WOMEN'S RECOVERY MOVEMENT - was just a gleam in my mind's eye!!! Those were the days when I did all I could do to accrue funding... for the cause I dreamt of!!!
