Hi everyone, my name is Ika Risnawati. In this podcast I will briefly tell you about two news that I know about.
The first news with the title Flash floods destroyed 21 houses in Batu City, East Java, and the following is a summary of the news.
Flash floods triggered by heavy rains hit East Java's Batu City on Thursday, destroying at least 21 houses. As preliminary data, 21 houses were destroyed, the Batu City Disaster Management Agency's Disaster Management Operations Control Center said in a report. No injuries or fatalities were reported in the flood. A joint team of rescue teams, including from BPBD, was involved in evacuating affected residents and cleaning people's houses.
The second news with the title Vanessa Angel's son need trauma recovery assistance: KPAI and the following is a summary of the news.
KPAI expresses its condolences for the death of Angel and her husband in a car accident in Jombang, East Java. The initial cause is considered as fatigue as fatigue. Vanessa Angel and her husband died in the accident. Meanwhile, the driver, housemaid, and a son survived. According to a member of the Indonesian Child Protection Commission, his son who is still a toddler needs help recovering from his parents' shortcomings, because he is still too young. And Later, the companion who helps him can explain the loss in terms that he can grasp, and help him process his sad feelings and move on to positive things so that the child can be happy and cheerful again.
Based on the two news, the vocabulary that I got was, Triggered (dipicu), Heavy (lebat), Rescue (menyelamatkan), Grief (kesedihan), Preliminary (Awal), Fatigue (kelelahan).
My experience after knowing the news in English and understanding the contents, that is, I feel happy because I can learn English and know the latest news. Then I can also improve my understanding of English, can add new vocabulary to learn and apply in everyday life so that it is easy to remember, and improve good pronunciation by reading English news.
